What if I have more than one account?

If you have multiple IRAs you must calculate the RMD for each account. The withdrawal can be taken out of each account or just one. The key is to withdrawal the full RMD amount.

403(b)s work the same are IRAs. However, you have to calculate your RMD for your 403b accounts separately and withdraw the RMD from 403(b) accounts only.

Employer-sponsored plans like 401(k)s must also be calculated separately and withdrawn from 401(k) accounts only.
